Why not bunker with an alternative fuel?
Heerema has already invested in cleaner fuels to power its vessels, exemplified by the use of LNG for the Sleipnir. In addition to this major step forward, we are looking into the use of several alternative fuels such as bio-fuels and E-fuels.
How does GHG emissions reporting work?
At Heerema, we report our emissions in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Want to learn more about our emission scopes, our reduction plan and our calculation methods?

How does Heerema define Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions?
In line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Heerema reports emissions on Scope 1 and Scope 2. Scope 3 emissions reporting is under development. Ultimately the entire footprint of Heerema, including relevant scope 3 emissions, will need to be reduced to Net-Zero.
