Constructability Study - Danish North Sea

We provided an optimised installation strategy to enable our client to submit a competitive bid.

At a glance

Challenge

Our client needed an optimised installation strategy to submit a competitive bid.

Actions

We performed a constructability study to identify constraints related to local environmental conditions, soil conditions, regulations and the actual location. These constraints were used during the development of the installation strategy.

Benefits

By using our in-house logistical simulation tool, Metis, we could quickly run, add, and change scenarios due to its parametric setup. We developed a set of risk-averse and cost-effective installation strategies before using Metis to optimise the complete construction schedule.

Solution

The construction scenarios we developed were used as a base case in the competitive bid to the Danish Government.

De-risk

We de-risk projects by further defining installation processes, optimizing critical operations, and providing clear insights on construction risks that could impact on duration or cost.
