Office & HR Assistant

Do you take the challenge to be the linchpin in our beautiful Delft office? Are you a structured all-rounder with good communication skills, interested in office management and HR tasks and willing to bring HES to a next level?

HES is a Heerema Group company located at the Paardenmarkt 1 in Delft.

At HES delivering Engineering and Innovation for the renewable offshore sector are the main drivers. 

We are looking for an office & HR assistant who has a positive attitude and ‘can do’ mentality. With a variety of responsibilities, ranging from working closely with the General Manager to taking care of office supplies, you need to be a great multi-tasker.

You are able to bring pragmatic solutions that are in line with the dynamics of an engineering company. If you share our commitment and have an 'owner's mindset', then Heerema Engineering Solutions is the place for you. This role is demanding and bursting with variety.

Your daily activities:
 

  • Provide general secretarial support to the General Manager and his team, such as: organize travel arrangements, arrange and assist meetings, host visitors, booking resources, answering phone calls, efficient management of assigned agenda's and take care of office supplies;
  • Process, distribute, improve and file documentation and correspondence;
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential;
  • Prepare and create invoices;
  • Liaising with support functions (HR, Finance, IT);
  • Support for various HR matters, such as drawing up employment contracts, support in recruitment tasks and keep data up to date in the personnel system;
  • Administrative tasks in various systems (Time Chimp, SharePoint etc.);
  • Assist in development / improvement of management system;
  • Maintain internal intranet and the webpage of HES (in cooperation with DTP engineers);
  • Post updates and maintain the HES LinkedIn page;
  • Prepare / develop HES communications and branding.

You are: 

Proactive and committed. You know how to interpret HES needs and can translate this into (practical) processes/actions. Furthermore, you have:

  • A minimum of 2 years relevant working experience in a similar role;
  • All-round knowledge of MS Office;
  • The ability to plan your own work, work on your own initiative and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in Dutch and English both written and spoken;
  • Tact, discretion and respect for confidentiality;
  • An accurate and flexible attitude;
  • You are a team player and intrinsically motivated to learn more about HES;
  • A pro-active and a hands-on mentality;
  • Available 24-32 hours per week.

Installation Engineer

Heerema Engineering Solutions (HES) is looking for an Offshore Installation Engineer (Jr/Sr) who is passionate about constructing renewable structures offshore.

Together with a team of highly motivated colleagues, you will be developing cutting edge installation methodologies required for the offshore renewable projects of tomorrow.

Besides the office work, at HES you will have the opportunity of joining offshore installation campaigns to gain valuable hands-on offshore installation experience, from which you will benefit throughout your career.

Having affinity with commercial work is a plus for this role, since your input might be required during client meetings.

Daily activities

In your role you will develop and assess installation methodologies for the installation of (but not limited to):

  • Fixed and floating foundations for offshore wind turbines
  • Wind turbines
  • Substations
  • Cable installation

In addition you might be involved in development of installation methodologies for other renewable energy sources available offshore, like solar, tidal and wave energy.

You might be involved during tender phase to define the overall installation strategy of an offshore renewable project. Or you might be helping out a client that encounters issues during offshore installation. The role of installation engineer offers a range of challenges.

You have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Offshore/Mechanical/Maritime Engineering or equivalent
  • Affinity with the offshore industry

Marine Engineer

As a marine engineer (Jr/Sr) your areas of focus will be ship hydromechanics, weather risk assessments and environmental loading conditions for offshore operations. Furthermore you will develop and contribute to marine analysis related software.

You will be working in a team of skilled marine engineers and other passionate colleagues active in different disciplines. Together with your team you will analyse and validate future offshore installation assets, equipment and methodologies.

Daily activities

In your role you will be performing hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analysis in both frequency and time domain. The core focus of HES is installation of offshore renewable projects. Therefore the analysis you will be doing might be regarding

  • Assessing dynamics of the anchor spread of installation vessels
  • Defining workability of critical installation steps
  • Understanding the feasibility of new installation methodologies
  • Optimize newly developed equipment to improve the workability.

In addition you might be supporting the construction of a renewable projects by joining an installation campaign offshore. Or develop new software to raise our hydrodynamic analysis capabilities to a new level.

You have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Maritime Engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in marine analysis
  • Application know-how of marine packages such as WAMIT/Orcaflex
  • Programming experience with languages like Python and MATLAB
  • Adequate command of the English language, both spoken and written

We are looking for marine engineers with working experience, familiar with packages such as WAMIT and Orcaflex, as well as talented starters with a relevant background.

Structural Engineer

As a structural engineer (Jr/Sr) you will be dealing with a wide range of structural challenges. You will be responsible for the structural assessments of new offshore renewable installation projects. For example a structural assessment of a monopile to confirm the monopile structural integrity is not jeopardized during transport and installation.

In addition, you will be looking into design of new installation equipment such as wire reels, installation templates and motion compensated gripper frames for the installation of monopiles.

Daily activities

In your role you will be executing structural design and structural integrity checks of existing and new equipment. You might be working with our inhouse software Grillex, or with commercial software like ABAQUS and SACS.

  • Structural design of equipment like, wire reels, upend frames, subsea templates or other equipment required for the installation of an offshore renewable project.
  • Design of grillage and sea-fastening for transportation of monopiles, transition pieces and other offshore components.
  • Confirm the structural integrity of monopiles or other components that are installed during an offshore renewable project. Considering the different transportation and installation steps. (Load-out, Transportation, Load-in, Upending of a component offshore, etc.)

In addition you might be involved in geotechnical analysis like pile driving analysis and survey data interpretation.

You have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in Structural analysis
  • Application know-how of structural software packages like ABAQUS, SACS
  • Programming experience with languages like Python and MATLAB
  • Adequate command of the English language, both spoken and written

Final Thesis / Internship student

Within HES there are always opportunities for final thesis and internship candidates. We have assignments for students with various engineering backgrounds. With assignments related to naval architecture, structural engineering, motion and control engineering, offshore engineering. All of our assignments are related to the offshore installation of renewable projects.
