We designed and coordinated the conceptual design of a subsea pre-piling template to monitor and correct pile inclination during offshore installation.

Our client required a subsea pre-piling template that could monitor and correct pile inclination during offshore installation.

Actions

We performed a dynamic over-turning moment analysis that incorporated template-soil and pile-soil interaction alongside environmental loading analysis using Orcaflex. 

Benefits

Our analysis resulted in considerable weight savings without compromising on offshore workability. Additionally, we designed the hydraulic levelling system.

Solution

We designed a lighter and, therefore, lower-cost template, which was easier to handle offshore. This project was executed alongside partners Tillen and PT Structural.
