Offshore Safety Officer

At Heerema Marine Contractors, we do something new every day. We operate the world's largest crane vessels and with them we transport, install and remove offshore structures for the offshore energy markets. Our projects range from installing wind turbines, removing retired offshore oil and gas platforms and installing platforms up to 50,000 metric tons. Your role in the story

As Safety Officer you are pro-active provide guidance, operational support and coaching  on proper implementation of HMC's QA/SHE Management System on board. You assist in effective Control of Work (preparation of JSA's) to stimulate and facilitate the execution of proper toolbox talks on board. Furthermore you instruct on required safety precautions and correct use of Personal Protective Equipment and assist in helicopter operations in the role of Helicopter Landing Officer. Updating the system, assisting in the investigation and reporting of accidents and incidents is also part of your tasks. You report to the HSE Officer. 

Who will you work with?

In this position you will work closely with our experienced and professional staff on board of our crane vessels.

Our desired candidate holds a mid-level or higher degree, at least at MVK level. Furthermore you are experienced in offshore and preferably gained experience on large vessels as Safety Officer. You possess excellent communication and reporting skills. Dutch and English, both written and spoken, are essential. As Safety Officer you thrive in a dynamic environment, you are adaptable to continually changing circumstances and you are open to suggestions and ideas on safety on board.

Heerema has a 5 weeks on / 5 weeks off working schedule but this may fluctuate due to the nature of our activities.
