Field Engineer

At Heerema Marine Contractors, we do something new every day. We operate the world’s largest crane vessels and with them we transport, install, and remove offshore structures for the offshore energy markets. Our projects range from installing wind turbines, removing retired offshore oil and gas platforms, and installing platforms up to 50,000 metric tons. As Field Engineer you are responsible for adequately performed offshore engineering work for each project and provide technical advice to the (Assistant) Superintendent for construction as well as fabrication or structural maintenance activities, design and preparation of required modifications appliances on board of our vessels. You liaise between the Project Team (onshore and offshore) including vessel staff and corporate with the Assistant Superintendent and other deck Foreman to ensure a smooth job preparation and execution. Furthermore you develop operational procedures, coordinate dimensional control surveys, assist in solving technical problems and actively contribute to improve the safety, efficiency and quality of all kind of processes

Who will you work with?

In this position you will work closely with professional and experienced colleagues on deck, on the bridge, the engine room and office staff.

• Bachelor degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering;
• Relevant experience in the design and calculation of structures;
• Well known in the heavy lifting and an offshore environment;
• Excellent reporting skills and the ability to communicate in a strong and clear manner;
• Practical mind, flexible attitude;
• Dutch and English, both written and spoken is essential.

Heerema has a 5 weeks on / 5 weeks off working schedule but this may fluctuate due to the nature of our activities.
